Review for Djinn by Laura Catherine: ★★★★★

Djinn (Djinn, #1)Djinn by Laura Catherine

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kyra's life is far from normal.
Kyra has spent her life on the run. Going from town to town, just her, her father and their beat up old truck trying to evade the bad people, who are after them. However these people catch up with them and Kyra finds herself kidnapped and taking to a place where she quickly learns that all is not as it seems.

This is the first in the Djinn series and the first time I have come across this author. I am a massive fan of young adult paranormal romances and this certainly did not disappoint. I loved how unique the story's concept was and learning about the Djinn race and their society and how descriptive the story was, it was perfect from start to finish!
I loved how the author was able to introduce the concept of Djinn into the human world and make it so believable, it made you think "oh yeah, i could see how that could happen". The twists and turns kept you guessing for the most part and made you want to keep reading long into the night (which i found myself doing).

I just LOVED story and i can not wait to dive into Djinn world again with Blooders.

I gave this story a massive 5 stars but feel it deserved a helluva of a lot more.

Kyra’s life is far from normal.

She's been on the run for as long as she can remember and her father is the only stable thing in her life, but everything changes when the people pursuing them finally catch up.

Kyra is abducted by the handsome and mysterious, Will. He takes her to a secret compound where she is told the truth: She's a Djinn, a genie-like creature with super powers and a love of dogs.

Kyra has to adjust to the Djinn and their rules, but her new life is far from perfect. Everyone is hiding something and the one person Kyra cares about most is forbidden to her.

There are secrets around every corner and more dangers than Kyra could ever imagine as she struggles to find herself and be with the one she loves.
