Review for Junkie by Heather C. Leigh: ★★★★★

Junkie (Broken Doll #1)Junkie by Heather C. Leigh

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

::..Reviewed for Red's Midnight Readers..::

I was provided with an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review. I gave it 5 dark and twisted stars.

Okay so my first thought about this bloody fantastic novel was that it was like I was reading a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" but with a deliciously dark twist.

"Boss" is not a cursed prince doomed to spend his life in a hideous form but rather a beautiful and powerful drug lord who hides his "ugly" beneath the surface and Miri is not a damsel looking for refuge but a "Junkie" looking for her next fix when her supplier disappears.

What can I say about this book that would do it justice? Nothing probably. I couldn't get enough of this highly addictive read from Heather C. Leigh. My only issue with this novel is that it was over far too quickly. I need more and that cliff hanger the author left us with, will have me scrambling for the next one for sure.

The was a deep and powerful story of addiction and the lengths one person would stoop to in order to keep feeding that addiction, only this character did seem to realize she was walking straight into the Lion's den. It gripped me from the first chapter and pulled me in to it's depths, i absolutely loved every word.

Blurb
I'm a heroin addict. A junkie. A whore. I'll do anything to get my next fix.

Anything.

Including walking right onto the property of Austin's most ruthless and feared drug lord to beg for some H. I don't know his name, only that people call him Boss. Oh, and that he won't think twice to put a bullet in my head.

But like I said, I'll do anything to get my next fix. Even if it costs me my life.

Or changes it forever.
