I was provided with an ARC of this from Net Galley. My actual rating is 3.5 stars.

I just didn't get it.
Lisa Renee Jones is a new author to me and when I read the blurb for her latest release, I was excited because this sounded right up my street. Lies, betrayal, lust the whole shebang but what I got was something else.
Now I liked the story but it has left me with mixed feelings on the one hand I struggled with it but the cliffhanger sort of made me want to read more from this new series. However on the whole the story fell a little short for me. It was slow to start and it was only those last few chapters where I started to feel engaged as a reader. It didn't pull me in and grip like a good story should, it just didn't excite and to be honest I struggled for the most part as the constant back and forth was starting to give me whiplash and I couldn't concentrate on the story.
Such a shame because the blurb made it sound like a book for me.
With that being said this is just my opinion and you can't please everyone. If this sounds like a book you might enjoy, what are you waiting for? Just try it! You might enjoy it.
